About our Presenter: Janine Washle, widely known as “The Flavor Queen,” is a self-taught cook, baker, and culinary instructor based in the Louisville area. Born in Germany and raised in the Appalachian South, she specializes in researching traditional culinary history and updating old-fashioned recipes with a creative, modern twist. Janine is owner of 109 N Mulberry German-American Cafe located in Elizabethtown, KY. She is a frequent Friday guest on WAVE 3’s Wave Country with Dawne Gee, where she demonstrates comforting, crowd-pleasing dishes ranging from savory biscuit bakes to sweet party dips. In addition to her television appearances, she shares her expertise with the community by hosting regular interactive classes at Louisville’s Cooking at The Cottage.
